The Problem
The Problem.
Mitch Rapp, the main character, is an assassin who works for the CIA. He is given a list of people that he has to kill. While fulfilling his job he encounters one of his targets completely defenseless while sleeping and doesn’t think twice. He shoots the target but little did he know that there was a trap set up. A separate group of people was plotting to kill him for fame and glory. After the target is dead the other group busted down the door and started firing. Without any warning, Mitch could only do so much. He kills a few of the men but gets shot in his shoulder. He barely escapes but he failed his job. He was to be discreet so normally he only kills the target and a few of the people defending him but this time civilians, as well as the "unidentified" people, lay there dead. This brought too much attention to the CIA so they have to keep everything under wraps. Will he be killed by friend or foe? The problem itself is somewhat interesting because of the choices that he, as the main character, can make that will decide whether he lives or not. As far as I know, following the continuation of the book, Mitch Rapp will scour the city of Paris, all the while looking for the designated meeting spot to report back to the CIA. While doing so he will most likely face many challenges, not only getting to the location but just surviving as well. He nearly died from blood loss, then hypothermia, as well as being starved. I imagine that since his journey will be tough, everything will eventually die down and he will be able to return back to the CIA. It’s a little optimistic but in the eyes of the CIA, Rapp is a fairly important assassin who is able to complete his jobs well and efficiently.
